Description: This position presents an opportunity to participate in a growth oriented organization and to gain exposure and understanding of the energy industry. This role is ideally suited to a highly knowledgeable, career oriented designated professional seeking a challenging opportunity.
Reporting to the CFO Canadian Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for financial reporting of the monthly and quarterly financial statements and related notes and for consolidating quarterly financial results.
More specifically, the Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Oversees preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;
- Assists in analysis of variances from Annual Operating Plan;
- Prepare monthly management reports including financial highlights, variance analysis and yearly financial outlook;
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with banks and other key financial partners;
- Participate in quarterly reviews with external auditors and prepare year end information;
- Develop weekly reports, bi-weekly forecasts and various other types of financial analyses;
- Develop, implement and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls regulation;
- Monthly preparation of the complex variable pay calculation for business units;
- Overall responsibility for the Canadian Operations segment of monthly management reporting book, all board books and public documents;
- Support the CFO in various related activities.
Candidate profile – Experience and
qualifications:
- Recognized professional designation (CA/CMA/CGA);
- 5 years of relevant experience;
- In-depth understanding of GAAP;
- Strong English writing skills specifically surrounding the review and creation of management reports;
- Solid analytical and organizational abilities; resourceful and shows initiative;
- Ability to deal comfortably with a fast-moving environment; open minded and flexibility in adapting to change;
- Quality and detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent team player;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word;
- Bilingual (English and French).
