Reporting to the Managing Director, Generation Asset Management for Brookfield renewable Power, the Manager, Data Quality Control is responsible to provide highly reliable data from operations and other sources to different users within Brookfield Power. He will implement proper procedures to accurately gather, quickly transfer, thoroughly validate and safely store operational and market data related to electricity generation. The incumbent closely coordinates with Operations’ staff, IT personnel, Trading, Settlement and Controllers to meet users’ needs seeking for most efficient processes.

More specifically, the Manager, Data quality control:

• Evaluates the needs from all users and coordinates primary data gathering;
• Implements adequate quality assessment procedures mainly for generation planning, settlement and risk control purposes;
• Ensures most up-to-date information is made available and changes are documented;
• Collects and maintains up-to-date information on actual metering equipment, communication channels and storing methods;
• Participates, ad hoc, in various projects, including improving reporting features of actual tools.

Candidate profile – Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor degree in appropriate concentration (Engineering, Information Technology, Administration)
• 5 years of experience in data management and quality assessment processes; experience in hydropower industry is an asset;
• Ability to work collaboratively and to develop business relations/partnerships;
• Demonstrated organizational and analytical abilities; quality driven and detail oriented;
• Capable of managing priorities and meeting deadlines;
• Methodical approach to solving problems;
• Knowledge of commodity markets (particularly electric power) an asset;
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and data warehouse tools;
• Highly proficient in English; bilingualism an asset.
