MANAGER, STRUCTURED TRANSACTIONS (CONTRACT
MANAGEMENT)

Description: This position
presents an opportunity to participate in a growth oriented

energy industry. This role is ideally suited to a highly
knowledgeable, career oriented manager seeking a challenging
opportunity.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Settlement of Brookfield
Power Marketing inc, a subsidiary of Brookfield Renewable
Power Inc. (BRP), the incumbent will oversee and review various
energy structured transactions and settlement issues. More
specifically, the Manager is responsible for the following
activities:
- Lead and manage a team of analysts and technicians
responsible for the settlement and invoicing of Power Purchase
Agreements (PPAs) for BRP;
- Maintain the business processes to ensure consistent enterprise-wide
interpretation and execution of PPA’s;
- Facilitate with various BRP groups in the resolution of ambiguities
arising through the execution of contracts;
- Prepare and maintain summaries of all PPAs to capture key
contractual information and intent; then obtain enterprise-wide
acceptance of summary;
- Build and maintain positive relationships with counterparties
and with BRP affiliates;
- Give support to commercial and operational personnel towards
meeting contract obligations;
- Responsible for preparing the forward price curves to forecast
revenue for financial reporting groups and budgeting;
- Review and lead the integration of new contracts into the
organization;
- Manage the development of the contract database for analysis,
settlement, invoicing and reporting.
Candidate profile – Experience and
qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting
or related finance field;
- 4-5 years of experience in the energy field and in managing
contracts;
- Detail oriented and driven by deadlines;
- Sound business and analytical judgement coupled with strong
abilities in dealing with commercial issues;
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills in managing
personnel;
- Demonstrated capability to make decisions and to gain cooperation
of others;
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel is essential);
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Working knowledge of French (an asset).
