Description: This position
presents an opportunity to participate in a growth oriented
organization and to gain exposure and understanding of the
energy industry. This role is ideally suited to a highly
knowledgeable, career oriented Director seeking a challenging
opportunity.
Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, the Director,
IT Applications is responsible for managing a number of high
profile and strategic implementations for the organization.
The incumbent will plan, organize and control all aspects
related to the application’s group in order to ensure
quality support while respecting specific deadlines and budgets.
More specifically, the Director will manage the availability
of the applications portfolio use by the organization, act
as a leader in problem solving as well as oversee the processes
when restoring customer service following during IT incidents
and outages.
- Lead and manage the application operations and support
team, including the architecture team;
- Coordinate the support to end users when IT issues arise,
and be responsible for maintaining 24/7 software applications;
- Ensure follow ups in conformity with forecasted budgets,
schedules, quality control and risk management;
- Coordinate technical resources in relation with deliverables;
- Report on IT operations status on a regular basis by specifying
constraints and recommended solutions;
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the application staff
member.
Candidate profile – Experience and
qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology
or related field (a Master’s degree is an asset);
- Minimum of 10 years experience, including at least 3 years
of experience as Director IT Applications or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years of consulting experience pertaining
to IT operational experience and management of software
support;
- Excellent knowledge or formal experience in application
development management methodologies;
- Experience in system & data architecture;
- Strong skills in problem solving;
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills in managing
personnel;
- Demonstrated capability to make decisions and to gain cooperation
of others;
- Ability in coordinating multiple tasks;
- Strong communication skills in French and English (spoken
and written).
